Dry salt and make it to crystallization

First, take some ocean water and put it on a plate made of red tile.

Next, sunshine the ocean water for a several days to make them into dry salt.

Then, people will rake the dry salt into a pile
.

DIY – Make a colourful salt bottle !!!

You need to get some salt and mix some colouring in it.

You will get some colourful salt.

Put the salt you made into a bottle.

! While you put salt in it you’ll need to knock it on the table to make it tight!

When you’re done, you will get a bottle of colourful salt.

Whales and dolphins

We went to Taijiang Cetacean Museum.

There’re many huge whales and dolphins.

(This is Bryde’ s Whale.)

We all learn a lot from this field trip, and we had a lot of fun!!!

There are one hundred kinds of oysters in the world. Most of them can eat. Oysters’ shells are very colorful, they are dark grey and a little bit purple, brown, black or yellow. They usually live in intertidal or the reef in the shallow.

Most oysters cultivate at the coastal of Chiayi, Tainan, Yunlin and Kinmen. The fishermen usually use (插竹式)Bamboo-style plug to feed the oysters. They usually put some empty shells in the ocean, and oysters’ embryos will attachment on the empty shells. And then it will become new oysters. The oysters like to stay in the water of 10~30℃. They usually eat plankton or organic debris for food.

I. Sicao’s ecology【一】---special crabs’ introductions

Hello! My name is Taiwan fiddler crab. My obvious feature is my big chela (or you can say ''pincer''). It looks like a big scissors, isn’t it? I just live in Taiwan, so you won’t see me in other places. By the way, I live in mangrove, and I build my house in the little wet caves. Nice to meet you! :D

Hi! I’m jiao yan sha sie. Do you know why I’m so different? Ha Ha! Let me tell you. Look at my eyes---they are angle, not circle, that’s the orgin of my name. Also, my chelas aren’t as big as my each chela, it’s a little bit different from the Taiwan fiddler crab. Do you remember? (˙ˇ˙)

Hello, everyone! Welcome to my world! In my world…oh! Sorry, I forgot my introduction. OK, let me tell you now. I’m duan jhih he shang sie…my name is really strange, right? But it’s relating to my looking. My body is light blue and green, my head is empty. The Taiwanese think I’m look like a monk, so I have this name. But…am I really look like a monk? ( PS. I don’t think so!! >_< )

II. Sicao’s ecology【二】--- Sicao’s scenery & introductions

Sicao is in Tainan. It’s in Taijiang national park. The most famous landscape is the wetland. There are many wonderful creatures, such as water birds, fiddler crabs, egrets and mudskippers. There are many plants there, too. For example, there are kandelias and mangroves. Sicao is a very nice place because it’s natural and many people like to take a trip to there. And now, let’s watch some beautiful pictures from Sicao.
