How I celebrated Mother's Day - Ms. Chuang (Ivy老師)

In Taiwan, Mother's Day falls on the second Sunday of May. So, yesterday was Mother's Day in Taiwan.

I took my mom to 美濃 and 甲仙. Why did I take my mom to these two small towns? 

My mom loves tasting famous snacks or food.

美濃 is famous for its 粄條, a kind of noodles made with rice.

甲仙 is the hometown of taros. You can find varieties of food made of taros.

We had taro cakes and taro ice cream.

Of course, I didn't forget carnations!

My mom had a great smile on her face when I gave her this...

How do we celebrate Mother's Day-Group 4

All of my family came to my grandparents house to celebrated  Mothers Day.

We ate a big cake a big dinner、 played games  and gave my mom、my grandmother Carnations 、cards and gave them presents and we were very happy.

Last Sunday was Mothers Day.

We bought a big cake and went back to my grandmothers house.When finisher our dinner，we took out the Mothers Day cake.All of us were very excited.

What a wonderful Mothers Day!

Our family celebrated Mothers Day yesterday. My brothers and I bought a cake for my mother. My mother looked very happy. we talked to her"Happy Mothers Day"and than I took a gift for her.She was very excited.And she said I am a really sweet girl.

How we celebrated Mother's Day - Group 3

Yesterday was Mother’s Day .I went to my grandmother’s home with my family.

After lunch, I took out a big chocolate cake, my mom and grandma was really

surprised. We were very happy in Mother’s Day. All of us were really excited and enjoy in it.

Yesterday was Mother’s Day .I get up early to grandma`s home,and play computer games to the evening.

We went to the restaurant to eat a big dinner.

After dinner,my brother and I took out the big strawberry cake,my mom grandma was so surprised.

We are all happy in this festinal.

My family and I celebrated Mother’s Day yesterday.

First,my sister and I went to grandma’s house celebrated Mother’s Day.

We aren’t that often go to grandma’s house so we decided to go there first.

After we celebrated,my dad drove my sister and I to take the cake.

My sister and I bought a cake for Mom together.

It was a shape of a face.

It looks so funny. Haha

We took the cake,and we went to a restaurant.

In the end,I had a big lunch with my aunts,uncles,grandparents,parents,older sister and a little cousin.

Oh!By the way,my little cousin couldn’t wait to eat the cake so he cried.

After my aunt gave him,he gave our a big smile:D

How we celebrated Mother's Day - G2

     If we have a chance to celebrate the Mother' s Day, we want to take her to a beautiful restaurant, because all of our family like eating! After that, we can go to a beach, because my mom likes beaches very much.
     Finally, we will hug her and say" Happy Mother's Day " to show our love!

In 2014 this year, Mother’s Day is on May 11th. In my family, we celebrated Mother’s Day by having a cake together! And me and my brother also gave her cards in the shape of the heart!! My mom looked quite happy yesterday, I think.

Last Sunday was Mother’s Day. We celebrated by helping my mom to clean-up our home in the morning,then we had spaghetti for lunch.In the afternoon my father took us to Meiling(a mountain) to climb the mountain and see the firefly at night ,it was very beautiful.Last we bought a cake for mom to thanks her.                                                                                            Mark
     This Mother’s Day,my uncle,aunt,cousins,and my grandma came to visit us.There was a fair on that day, so we went there in the morning.After the fair,went to the restaurant for lunch.We ate los of food,for the example, dumplings,noodles,shrimps,nd so on. Last weekend is our mother’s day. We celebrate the festival by many ways. MY neighborhood gave some bouquets of flowers to the people who need present for their mom. However, I took one for my mom. She was happy about it Then my big family had a dinner together. I really had a great time with my family. I also went to the movie with my friends in church. The movie is call “Son of God”. It was awesome and great!

We enjoyed Mother’s Day happily last weekend. Dad and I bought a lot of food, and we prepared a big dinner, a card and a bouquet of flower for Mom. Mom was very excited and happy when I said I love you to her.

On Mother’s Day, our family, my uncle my aunt and my cousin had a big dinner with my grandma.  My sister, my cousin and I prepared a big cake for my grandma.  We didn’t prepare a gift for our moms, but they are still very happy.

大東門

大東門位於今日的台南市東門路1段，列為三級古蹟。城門呈東西向，中開圓拱門，是捍衛府城、攻擊敵人的射擊口。城洞內鑲有一塊道光28年所立的石碑，主要內容是：不許士兵對來往此城的農商零販，予以勒索。

台南四草

在安南區大眾廟後方的「水上綠色隧道」。前身是台灣第一條運河，由清朝港官黃任所開闢，經過幾百年泥沙淤積、居民佔地而逐漸沒落。而因為河道兩旁的紅樹林，才又以自然生態為題發展出其保育及觀光價值。水上觀光有兩條路線，較便宜的竹筏主線便是綠色隧道。

做十六歲

為臺南市特有的成年禮活動，在16歲成年的七夕，向兒童守護神「七娘媽」（即織女七仙女）敬謝，以開隆宮最為鼎盛。

孔廟

臺南孔廟佔地9007平方公尺、建物面積2169.9平方公尺。位於臺南市南門路（原文廟路），是全臺最早的一座文廟，與國家臺灣文學館毗鄰。臺南孔子廟建於1665年（明永曆十九年，康熙四年），由陳永華建議鄭經在承天府桂仔埔（鬼仔埔）建立，初設時僅設大成殿，用來祭祠孔子，又稱先師聖廟，之後又設明倫堂作為講學之用，是為全臺首學，時稱「先師聖廟」。

隸屬於安平港國家歷史風景區中的安平漁人碼頭位在安億橋旁，

碼頭旁一艘艘的遊艇停靠港邊，堤岸邊設有人行木棧道，

以及半圓形的木質景觀平台，並有桌椅供民眾休憩，是適合全家假日休閒的景點。

阿里山 國家風景區

園區內的景點大致可分為三個區域，第一區為阿里山森林遊樂區本身，第二區為祝山觀日、對高岳觀日步道，第三區為眠月線、大塔山步道和阿吉縱走、阿豐縱走等。

傳統技藝

吹糖

糖人製作是一種民間手工藝，手藝人多挑一個擔子，一頭是加熱用的爐具，另一頭是糖料和工具。糖料由蔗糖和麥芽糖加熱調製而成，本色為棕黃色，也有的因加入顏料或色素而呈紅色或綠色。使用時火候的控制是關鍵，過熱則太稀易變形，偏冷又會太硬無法塑形。使用的工具很簡單，多為勺形和鏟形。

糖人不易保存，過去甜品短缺時，在把玩過後會吃掉糖人。如今出於衛生考慮，人們購買糖人更多地出於觀賞目的而非食用，任其久置變黑變質。

安平古堡

安平古堡，古稱奧倫治城（orange）、熱蘭遮城（Zeelandia）、安平城、臺灣城，位於今臺灣臺南市。最早建於1624年，是臺灣最早的要塞建築。自建城以來，曾經是荷蘭人統治臺灣的中樞、也曾經是鄭氏王朝3代的居城。

安平古堡有兩處遺跡被列為古蹟，為國家一級古蹟臺灣城殘蹟，及國定古蹟熱蘭遮城城垣暨城內建築遺構。而一般民眾登高望遠的瞭望臺，多被以為是安平古堡，但事實上是建於日治時期，不屬於古蹟。

古堡建築屋舍純用紅色磚瓦，黃昏時與日落相煇映，景色優美，「安平夕照」1953年獲臺灣省

政府選為臺灣八景之一
